The Secret Life of Pets is a 2016 American computer-animated comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures. It explores a comedic, imaginative premise: what pets do when their owners are away. The film follows Max, a terrier whose comfortable life is disrupted when his owner adopts Duke, a large stray, triggering a series of events that send the two dogs on an urban adventure across New York City.
